Overview
A happy, active family in Bethlehem, PA is looking for a full-time nanny for their two young children: a 2-year-old boy and a 1-year-old girl. Their current nanny is leaving to go back into teaching, and the family wants their next nanny to stay long-term. The parents are home and hands-on throughout the day, and the children’s grandmother lives nearby and visits often. It’s a warm, busy household where teamwork and good communication matter. The 2-year-old goes to school two mornings a week (8:30 AM–12:30 PM), so on those days the nanny has one-on-one time with the 1-year-old.

The family wants an upbeat, energetic, outgoing nanny who loves the work and knows how to handle toddlers. That means someone who can redirect a tantrum, keep little ones busy and engaged, and handle naps, diapering, and mealtimes with confidence. Experience in a daycare, preschool, or school setting is a great fit, and extensive private nanny experience isn’t required. The nanny won’t drive the children because the parents handle all transportation.

The family is living in a rental while they build a new home just down the street, so the commute will stay about the same after the move. During summer vacation, the family spends two to three months at their beach house on Long Beach Island, NJ, about two hours away, and they’d like the nanny to live in with them during that time. The family covers travel and gas, and provides room and board, including food. The nanny’s 50 guaranteed hours per week stay the same while they’re there.

Benefits: 1 week paid vacation (chosen by family), 1 week paid vacation (chosen by nanny), select paid federal holidays, 4–5 paid sick/personal days, travel and gas paid, plus room and board (private room and bath, food included) during summer stay, 50 guaranteed hours maintained during summer travel

Responsibilities:

• Provide attentive, engaging, hands-on care for a 2-year-old and a 1-year-old
• Manage nap routines and put the children down for naps
• Change diapers and support daily toddler routines
• Help with breakfast and prepare light meals and snacks for the children
• Plan active, age-appropriate play, including outdoor time and park outings
• Redirect toddlers through tantrums and transitions with patience and positivity
• Switch easily between caring for one child and both as the day changes
• Tidy the play areas, living room, and kitchen after meals and activities (no laundry)
• Communicate openly with parents about each child’s day
• Live in with the family at their Long Beach Island, NJ, beach house for two to three months during summer vacation

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience with toddlers in a daycare, preschool, school, or nanny setting
• Confident handling naps, diapering, feeding, and toddler behavior
• Energetic, upbeat, positive attitude
• Current CPR/First Aid certification
• Comfortable swimming and supervising children around water
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work (no driving the children)
• Available Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–6:00 PM
• Able and willing to travel and live in with the family for two to three months in the summer
• Must be able to provide 3–5 professional references
